Sexistence

(Donald Trump - film critic? Check out Trump Movie Reviews for the unholy amalgamation. -JMG)

Story Sent in by Tracy:

Martin and I were on a double date with his friends Sasha and Pete. We were out at a bar and having a good time when Martin all of a sudden stood up and said, "I have an announcement: Tracy's wearing black underwear."

I was, and I guess they were visible over the top of my pants when I leaned forward. Still, that was no reason to try and humiliate me so I said, "I have an announcement: Martin's a sexist who's trying to embarrass his date."

Martin got really defensive and said, "I'm not sexist! What the hell are you talking about?"

I said, "If I was one of your guy friends, would you have just made that same stupid 'announcement'?"

He said, "I'm not sexist! Look! I'll show you I'm not sexist!" and with that he pulled down his pants to show us all his boxers. "I'm not sexist!" he barked again.

Now that was humiliating. I asked Sasha if she wanted to go to the bathroom with me and she did. While we were away I apologized to her and said that I was going to leave. She said she didn't blame me and that Martin had been through almost a dozen women in the past year for similar antics. I felt bad for leaving Sasha and Pete there but I really just didn't want to be around Martin any longer.

  1. Sorry Op but I have to agree with Martin that he wasn't being sexist.Martin was just being a neo-maxi-zoom-dweebie.And it seems that his dweebiness has no bounds.

  2. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when you didn't come back and he had to sit there like a moron.

  3. While I don't know if it's sexist so much as just rude and unnecessaty, I do agree with you leaving. I definitely would have been out of there.

    2. My brain has no concept of time. All posts that were not made today were made yesterday.

  5. Was it sexist? Merriam Webster defines sexism as:

prejudice or discrimination based on sex; especially : discrimination against women.

    Or

behavior, conditions, or attitudes that foster stereotypes of social roles based on sex

He wanted to make his date uncomfortable just for the sake of it. The crunch question is whether such behaviour from him is mostly targeted at women or if he is bullying men and women equally. If this kind of bullying is mostly targeted at women, he is discriminating on the basic of sex and thus it is sexism.

I think OP was spot on.
