The Purple Death

Story Sent in by Hope:

I wore purple leggings under my dress when I met Robert. He noticed them immediately and asked, "Why purple?"

"They're the ones I grabbed," I said, then pointed to his shirt. "Why brown?"

He shook his head and said, "Never mind," and then we took a walk down the road to a coffee shop where we sat in silence for a little while.

After some stilted small talk, he asked me, "Why purple? Can you tell me that? Of all colors?"

"What's wrong with purple?" I asked him.

He stood up and said in a low voice, "You're going to die someday. Someday quite soon."

He pulled away, straightened out his shirt, and said, "Have a good day," and left me there in shock.

  1. I'd say she dodged a bullet there but well, we'll have to wait and see...

  2. Poor Robert: being a psychic must be so hard. You never get to see the useful parts of the future like lottery tickets, instead it's all purple stockings and death-doomed dates.

  3. I mean, it's a poor joke about Julius Caesar. It definitely came out creepy.
