With the Tab

Story Sent in by Cynthia:

I was on a lunch date with Ben when a waitress came to our table and asked us what we wanted to drink. He ordered us two apple juices.

I was a little surprised that he took it upon himself to order for me, and I spoke up to say that I actually preferred a soda.

"Two apple juices," Ben said to the waitress, firmer.

I said directly to him, "I want a Coke."

He said, "I want you to have an apple juice."

I said, "And you don't get to tell me what to drink."

The waitress brought us our drinks, him his apple juice and me my soda. He stared at me with furious eyes as he drank down his juice, and once he finished it (in under a minute) he slammed it down, then stood up and said, "I'm going to get another glass of apple juice." He walked away.

He returned a few moments later with a full glass of clear soda, like Sprite or 7UP or something. He drank it down really fast, in the same way he did with his apple juice. He stared at me blankly again, then said, "Make love not war," and then stood up and left me there with the tab.
