Unreal

Story Sent in by Jeff:

At a restaurant with Emma, during a lull in the conversation, she began poking at her arm with her fork.

"What are you doing?" I asked her, concerned.

She replied, "Just making sure I'm real. I do that sometimes."

"Take my word for it. Put the fork down."

She poked herself a few more times. "Just what a fictional construct would say." She put her fork down then said, "Are you sure that you're real?"

"I am."

She picked up her fork and held it in my direction. "Maybe poke yourself a bit to make sure? Like in your face?"

I didn't take her up on her offer. She said, "Prove it for me?"

I didn't. I could tell she was pretty disappointed. She put her fork down and wouldn't speak to me for the rest of the meal. That was our only date.

  1. OP narrowly escaped getting forked over on that date. No forking way I'd go out with that forking wacko again. You know what, fork that forking forker.

  4. Well OP, if you don't check from time to time how can you be sure you're NOT a fictional construct? You should learn to take advice.

Who knows? Maybe she just had a thing for watching a guy fork himself?

Just be careful and don't hurt yourself.
