The Cliffs of Imbibery

Story Sent in by Sheryl:

Sean took me to an outdoor park that had an old windmill that was no longer in use for its original purpose although it had been restored by a local beautification committee. He also carried a hip flask that he drank dry within 20 minutes.

As we walked the grounds (which also included a small botanic garden), I asked him, "How about we get lunch and come back here for a picnic?"

He said, "Great idea," and we walked into town.

I thought we were going to a take-out food place, but he led us straight to a liquor store, where he bought a bottle of whiskey and a bottle of vodka. When we were out of the store, he opened both bottles, drank a little from each, straight up, and then poured some of each into his flask. He shook his flask up, then drank from it. "Whoa, that's strong," he said, then held the flask in my direction as if offering it to me. Before I could turn down his offer he brought it back to his lips and drank it all the way down, again. Then he laughed.

"I'm going to go," I told him.

Through his laughter, he said, "It's okay. I've got my beauties right here," and he kissed both bottles back and forth.

I went home, poured a single glass of wine, and watched The Princess Bride.

  1. Princess Bride is great because of the handsome Cary Elwes, which has now fallen to this: http://www.joblo.com/video/player.php?video=oogieloves-cary-elwes.

  2. Vodka and whiskey together?! I can understand why you left, OP. This guy clearly did not know his mixology.
