Snow Day

Story Sent in by Mike:

Doreen and I were supposed to get together for a first date on a day in which we were slammed with a massive snowstorm. I called her up to postpone and she said, "What do you mean? You're canceling tonight?"

I replied, "There's 18 inches of snow on the ground and more's coming down. I don't think I can make it to the restaurant. And neither of us should be on the road."

"I can make it! Don't tell me what I can and can't do!" Then she hung up. I let her alone to have her little hissy fit in peace.

Imagine my surprise a few hours later when she texted me angry photos of herself in front of the restaurant where we had been scheduled to meet. It looked closed, so she went through all that trouble to send me photos of her frowning self in front of a place that had no doubt closed because of the weather. The whole time she probably struggled to make it there, I was at home with hot chocolate. We never wound up on a date together but I think I lucked out on that deal.

  1. Bad weather's snow joke. Sorry you caught hail from this chick OP. Even if you got another date with her, I'm sure the reception would have been a little icy.

  2. In the end, he really just had some things to take care of, and she was really just angling for an updated invitation. She was just willing to work hard to prove her point...
