Beamed Down

Story Sent in by Luis:

Anissa wore a Star Trek onesie on our date. She explained, "Everything else I have is dirty. But I know you're a Star Trek fan so I thought you'd be cool with it."

I normally would've been fine with such a thing but I had made reservations at a nice place - the sort of place to which you don't wear a Star Trek jumpsuit. I explained this to her and she said, "No problem! We can just go somewhere else!"

I didn't really have a choice and so I took her to a nice but middle-of-the-road restaurant. She complained the whole time we were there. "I don't see why we didn't just go to the first restaurant." "Why couldn't we just go to the first restaurant?" "You know where we should be right now? That first restaurant."

Each time I calmly explained to her that her outfit would have prevented us from even setting foot within the first restaurant. I had told her where we were going beforehand so I don't know what else she was expecting.

At the end of dinner the check came and she asked, "Do I have to help you pay?"

Yes. I don't treat rude people to dinner. She made a big to-do about having to pay for a substandard meal and then she hurried out ahead of me and without so much as a goodbye.

  1. Honestly OP, I can't blame her. She wore that outfit for your benefit and when you didn't get excited about it, she lost interest. If I was going on a date with a girl and she dressed up as Princess Leia, I'd be all about it no matter which restaurant we were going to. You just know this girl was going to be fun in the bedroom.

  2. If she'd worn a jacket, a scarf and a pair of dangly earrings with the onesie she would have been fine. But, as The Architect said, a women who doesn't understand appropriate is likely going to be...let's say inappropriate in the sack.

  3. OMG, stop taking first dates to "nice" restaurants. Go grab a cup of coffee - much quicker and cheaper way to weed out the cray. If they insist on dinner, they are a dinner wh0re and should be automatically weeded out before even meeting. Yes, even if they are hot. ESPECIALLY if they are hot, as a matter of fact.

  4. Bananas is a Star Trek fan, and admires Anissa's devil-may-care attitude about wearing the onesie in public. She'd totally turn gay (cuz that's how it works, you know), and give her a chance...

    1. Already happened. Can confirm that Anissa is completely inappropriate in bed. I mean who eats crunchy granola bars in bed without a plate?! Worst. Hypothetical. Ever.

  5. Seems like the kind of girl who has this posted all over her facebook. Well done on being rid of her, OP.

    1. Like hell Marilyn Monroe ever said anything like that. I hate those things.

  6. For her to know where they were going and still wear the onesie, I would go ahead and assume that she is either an idiot or some sort of game player. In either instance, OP dodged the bullet.

    1. Or, she really liked this guy and wanted to impress him with her geeky sexiness. Because "Everything else I have is dirty." Really? Everything?

  7. If you know you're going on a date and can't manage to have clean clothes for it you fail hard in adulting

  10. I saw a lot of Star Trek onesies at the nicer restaurants downtown a couple weeks back, but I live in San Diego and it was Comic Con. There is a time and a place.

Also, never bring a girl to a fancy restaurant on a first date. Wait until the third date for that.
