Backup Drive

Story Sent in by Lisa:

Lester said he'd pick me up at my place. When he pulled up outside he honked the horn which was my first big irritation. Is it really that much trouble to come to the door?

Anyway I went outside and right as I reached for the passenger door handle, he jerked his car forward a couple of feet. I went for the door again and he drove it forward again. Then it happened one more time.

I called out to him, "Do you want me to come with you or not?"

He rolled down the passenger window. "I'm just joking. Come on. In you come."

I went for the door. He drove about 10 feet further on. I said, "You're backing up to let me in or I'm not going anywhere with you."

He backed up a foot. I said, "Keep going."

He backed up another foot or two. "Keep going!"

Then he backed up a little more, but I still couldn't reach the door. "A little more," I said.

He yelled, "Forget it! You're too high-maintenance!" and he floored it away.

  3. If you go outside for a honked horn, you've made yourself as cheap as a drive through hamburger. Geez I sound like an old woman.
