Shovin' Buddies

Story Sent in by Jenifer:

In high school, it wasn't unusual for my boyfriend Adam to spend the night at my place. His parents had an awful relationship and to this day I don't know why they stayed together.

One night, Adam came over and we sat on my bed, watching Muppets from Space. In the middle of the film, out of nowhere, he shoved me off the bed and onto the floor! I even hit my head on the closet door.

I was stunned, not only because he had never once been violent, but also because he didn't even look at me. He just kept watching the film like nothing was wrong. I asked him what his problem was and screamed at him to leave.

He said, "What are you complaining about? You think this is bad, you should see my home life."

I stood up and opened the door to my room. "Leave," I told him.

He leaned back, fake-yawned, and said, "I have nowhere to go."

I said, "Not my problem. Leave or I'll call my mom up here."

He watched the film like nothing was wrong.

"Mom!" I called.

That made him move. He stood up, walked past me, said, "Guess I'll just go home and do nothing," and left my house before I actually had to involve a parent.

I still saw him around the high school, but luckily we didn't have any of the same classes together and the fact that I told everyone I could about his little "episode" was enough to keep him away from me forever.

  1. Remove the "In high school" from the beginning and this guy seems creepy weird but as it is, meh, high school. They were both immature and there is no winner in this story.

  2. Sorry, it is BS that they are "just high school" and she was overreacting. If everything was as she said, she dodged a bullet and I'm proud of her. Shoving her so hard that she hit the floor and slid into the closet door and not seeming to care to see if she was hurt or not is an act that should be overlooked just because they were "high school".

And if the quote: He said, "What are you complaining about? You think this is bad, you should see my home life." is what he really said, then he thought that was normal and would continue to treat her worse and worse.

Oh and there WAS a winner, she won because she kicked him out and warned everyone else.

  3. I briefly dated a guy who did this to me because I playfully insulted his football team (well they did suck and he was always teasing me about mine). I was out of there faster than you could say "douchebag." Oh yeah, and we were both 14.
