Ex-Rated

(What makes a film fun to watch? Hint: it isn't the dialogue. Click here to find out on this week's Jared's Inkwell! -JMG)

Story Sent in by Lisa:

Jose and I were grabbing a drink when he looked across the crowded bar and stared at someone. I turned to see who it was, but it was really too crowded to tell.

I asked him, "Know someone?"

He said, "My ex."

I didn't know any details about any of his exes, and so I glanced down the bar again and turned back to him, but he was already staring somewhere else, across the room.

"Oh my God," he said, "Another ex."

I looked in the direction in which he was looking. It was another big clump of people. Maybe I should've chosen somewhere quieter for our first date? I had no idea it would be that busy on a Thursday night.

Then, he looked in another direction and his eyes went wide. "I don't believe it," he said, "Another ex."

"Are you serious?" I asked him.

Then he looked like he was about to cry.

He paid for our drinks then hurried out with me. I was going to ask him if he wanted to go elsewhere, but he said, "All right. Goodnight," and left me standing there with the rest of his exes.
