Mad Baggins

Profile Sent in by Diane:

About me:

I'm short. 5'2". I have two masters degrees, and yet most women are more hung up on my height than on anything else about me. On request, I will wear stilts on our date, so as to not completely humiliate you. Far be it from me to interrupt the good things you have going on with that 6'5" thrice-divorced garbage man or that 6'1" manchild who still lives with his parents. It's okay! I'm short! I'm clearly worth less than they are!

Maybe it's not my height that sucks. Maybe it's you who sucks. Just a thought!

  1. Ah, a sufferer of Little Man Syndrome. As a non-tall guy (I'm 5'6") who isn't hung up about his height, I can kinda, sorta understand this guy, but not really. Plus I'm packing downstairs so it's all good. Maybe that's his real problem?

    1. Relocating? Good luck with the move! Remember to wrap your glassware in paper before boxing them up. Is the upstairs already packed?

  2. He might be taller if he didn't have that big divot of a chip on his shoulder.

  3. See, this is why it's so IMPORTANT not to toss dwarves! They get bitter...

  4. What I don't understand is why he hasn't found even ONE woman who would find him tall...say, a woman who's 5' or even shorter. I know plenty of short girls! I myself am average height and not really comfortable dating a much shorter guy, but I'm also surprised at the number of really short dudes who actively seek out taller women only.

  5. He probably has dated shorter women, but they make up an excuse to ditch him as soon as they realize he's an embittered man who's overly pretentious about his intellectual credentials. Then, because he's unable to grasp that a woman might not be attracted to his shining personality, he latches onto his height as the reason that he never gets any second dates.

  6. He should go on a Little Person dating site. He'd be like Shaq to them!

  7. As a shorter guy, 5'7", I do think I'm at a certain disadvantage with online dating because it tends to reduce people to nothing more that stats and photos, but I certainly don't post angry tirades.

    1. I agree and this is why I prefer not to meet people online. I generally don't see the upside in dating sites. So why do you do it? Is there no alternative for you?

    2. I used dating sites because I was painfully shy in person, and that was an easy way for me to meet people without feeling intimidated, but that was also when I was still in the closet, unsure of my sexuality, and trying to date women, so that added a whole extra layer of insecurity.

When I came out and started gay dating online I had a much easier time as they don't seem so hung up on height, and it felt more natural to me, allowing me to be more confident. In fact, my boyfriend is 6'4" :-)

My favorite dating site, by a mile, is OK Cupid. Have you ever tried that one? It's great if you're looking for a polished site, where the bulk of the users are looking for something more than a hook-up.

    3. Ah, I see. I don't know if I'm sold on dating sites - I recently went back to dabble in OKCupid, but just to look around. I am also quite shy in person, but mostly because I've had some crappy experiences in my love life that have sapped my confidence. I've pretty much sworn off my love life for now.

    4. Give it a shot churro. You've got nothing to lose as it's a free site, and you seem intelligent and nice!

    5. ^I would love to know what you wrote in this deleted comment, Churro. Did your head explode because someone paid you a compliment? ;D

  8. OKC is far and away the best. Less pressure to be like the herd. Easier to really let your personality shine through.
