What Did the Five Fingers Say to the Track Star?

Story Sent in by Bill:

I was on my college's track team, and one time after a big meet, I went out to dinner with a group of friends. Ellen was among them. She and I had never met before, but I had seen her at some prior events and had wanted to learn more about her.

I was sure to sit next to her at dinner, and we chatted for a while. There was a loud and big (and growing) group of us out, and so after she and I had both eaten, I tossed in money to cover both of our checks, and we left to take a walk.

She asked me plenty of questions about track, and I hit several questions back to her. Then, she asked me something curious:

"What's it like to be able to get any girl on campus?"

"I wouldn't know," I replied.

She said, "I'll bet you're screwing every woman you look at."

"No," I said, then pointed to her, "Case in point."

She shook her head and gave me a smile. "Nice try. Not going to happen."

I shrugged. "Okay."

"Why not?" she asked, "What's wrong with me?"

I said, "What do you care? You just told me that it wasn't going to happen."

She replied, "So you do want to screw me."

I said, "It doesn't matter to me, either way."

She stamped on the ground. "Why not? You don't think I'm attractive?"

I said, "We just met."

She raised her voice. "So? You can't tell if I'm attractive? You really are an idiot."

I stepped away from her and said, "Okay, have a good night. I'm not in the mood for a fight–"

"Oh, you're not in the mood? How about this?" she yelled, and slapped me hard, across the face. She then stomped off, leaving me in a little bit of pain and a lot of shock.

Of course, I told all of my friends about this encounter, and for some reason or another, she never went out of her way to show her face around me again.

  1. I think what bothers me about stories like this is the double standard. If a girl hits a guy, nothing will happen. If the guy hits back, he's a violent monster who should be locked up.

Of course, it would be better if we didn't hit at all...

  2. I have to say, if a girl slaps me for no reason, I slap her back. Thats assuming she actually connects and I dont just block, which usually is punishment enough (I have bony arms).

Now, if i'd done something to deserve a slap, i'd probably let it slide.

    1. There was this one time on a bus to a band event in high school that I was sitting next to my friend on the bus. He has bony arms. Well, he said something doofusy and I hit him in the arm with my wrist. To this day, I believe I sprained my wrist because it hurt really badly and swole up a little bit. His friend, who I think was trying to flirt was examining it like he was a doctor. Fun times. My one time at band came is much tamer than the American Pie version. :)

  3. Noone reacts to the OP being a moron as well?
I have to say; lately, we've gotten tons of posts where the OP is more or less as much to blame as the "target"....

Granted, she is being difficult, but come on..

  4. But he didn't want to screw her! He just wanted to "learn more about her", like what her ideal operating temperature is and whether to use linseed or mineral oil to keep her shiny.

  5. Sounds like Ellen was too into herself

  6. Most girls in High School are young and confused. Some girls in college fit into the same category.

This one seems like one of those that is stuck in her head somewhere between "OP is really hot and out of my league" and "I really hope OP asks me out"

OP is a little dense. She was just trying to get his attention.

  7. @ Shattering and Tourist: Are you guys for real? She played a stupid psychological game to get attention and it backfired miserably. This is why the stereotype about women being crazy exists:

"I bet you're a player who wants to fuck me!"

"Naw, I just want to get to know you."

"How dare you not want to fuck me!"

What's more, she made insulting assumptions about him AND PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED HIM JUST BECAUSE HE DIDN'T STROKE HER EGO!!!

You'd think she'd appreciate the fact that the OP was showing interest in her personality, but she was too full of herself. I cannot for the life of me understand how anybody could remotely fault the OP for this.

  8. Don't worry Baku, I've got you on this one.

  9. I'm with Baku as well... her immature psychological game backfired and was to blame. Sadly, in today's society the guy wouldn't call the police or even attempt to do anything other than tell his friends about the encounter because it's "okay" for a woman to strike a guy but not the other way around... I would've just called the cops so she wouldn't be able to act like an immature bitch to anyone else.

  10. I agree with Baku on this one. This chick is nuts. She reacted with violence just because the guy wasn't conforming to her stereotypes.

  11. "I am not a sex object"

    - "Ok"

    - "But why don't you treat me as a sex object?"

  12. I'm with Baku. What the fuck was that? Someone clearly has low self-esteem.

  13. You guys are hilarious...

First of all, yes she was a bitch as well, which, i believe, i said in my original post.

Furthermore; girls act like this when they're really young cause they don't know better, and when they are not really that young anymore to test you. OP failed obviously..

Lastly, I have no idea where the slap fits in this picture, I got a feeling some dialogue has been cut out, but we'll never know.

  14. ^ I wouldn't want to know any guy who would 'pass' that particular mind game test.
Even IF some dialogue has been cut physically assualting him was waaay out of line.

  16. @ Shattering: No, you did not say that in your original post at all.

"Noone reacts to the OP being a moron as well?

Being difficult does not = bitch. You also said that the OP was a moron and equally to blame which is absurd.

As I said earlier, playing mind games is a wrong way to "test" someone. How exactly was the OP to win this "test"? She said "Not gonna happen." What was he supposed to say? "Then I'll make it happen!"? Then we would say the OP was an asshole for forcing himself on her.
